All About Dani *
Dani is an award-winning, nationally recognized art director, illustrator, and artist based in St Pete, Florida. Known for her bold, cheeky style, Dani’s work is inspired by the Filipino-American diaspora, her roots in traditional printmaking, and her peripatetic upbringing– spanning rural Maryland, Southern California, Japan, and coastal Florida. Her passion for visual storytelling and vibrant colors celebrates kapwa, the interconnectedness within a shared community, to playfully connect with viewers in a way that is both personal and widely relatable.
“Each piece starts with a spark of color. It guides the composition and peeks through as I build. These cracks of light mirror the messiness of human nature and the beauty of kapwa. I create because I love the process; the challenge of puzzle-piecing a visual narrative that lives in the tension between humor and vulnerability. I want viewers to be drawn in by the playfulness, vibrant colors, and cheeky humor, then connect with the deeper emotional threads beneath. Life can be uncertain, and difficult moments are part of the human experience. My work invites a shift in perspective, encouraging viewers to see the world with more imagination and to embrace love, resilience, and connection in shared experiences.”
